Infos collected from my own report at linuxfr.org, our news/ subpages,
and websearches to confirm the exact dates. This may not be complete,
but it's an improvement over what we had previously.
Fixes#14461.
* CD -> DVD
* Setting history straight: it's named Haiku because of a public poll,
not because we honour our ancestor. Added list of final poll
candidates. (Those make me happy that "Haiku" was chosen... :) )
* alpha -> beta
* Use https:// where possible
* Use italic formatting for all Haiku apps and prefs
* Replace "ThinkFree" with "LibreOffice" and move GoBe tot he bottom
of the list of office suites.
* Up the minimum RAM for 32-bit from 192 MiB to 256 MiB.
Decided on "gcc7" instead of the precise version (7.3.0 currently)
to avoid constant updating. Calling it simply "a modern GCC" sounds
a bit too unspecific to me.
Hold on, I see gcc8 approaching... :)
I'll be looking at the minimal hardware requirement in VirtualBox
in the next days.
Or has anyone already tested RAM/space requirements of a current hrev?
* Update movies page
Fixes Trac #11305
- Remove dead links for sikosis.com - haikupodcast.com is dead, movie files are missing. I contacted author to see if they still have them.
- Remove dead torrent links (iffy to link there as those sites can be NSFW)
- Remove mention of Flash for YouTube as YT uses HTML5
- Removed Icon-O-Matic link. Link on author’s blog post goes to Google Video which no longer exists
- Added latest podcast video posted on Haiku blog
* Remove “OS”
* Fix typo
